In the Spirit of Election Day: Vote for Your Most Wanted Freebies

In the spirit of Democracy on this historic day, I’d like you to cast a vote for your favorite freebies, and I’ll get to work for you. I’ve added a poll in BittBox’s sidebar, where I’d like to give all of you a chance to chime in on what you want the most. Just another way to let you interact with me a little more. I’ll be changing the poll questions regularly from now on. Now go Vote !:)

Check Out My Article in Computer Arts 151

If you find yourself at a bookstore with nothing in particular to read, grab a copy of Computer Arts #151. I had the opportunity to write a small column on digital asset management. I had a heck of a time finding a copy of 151 myself, but I’m sure there are plenty of copies floating around out there. There is also a collection of my free brushes and textures on the CD. I’ve been a contributor to many magazines before, but this is the first “article” I’ve had published, hopefully not the last :)

Hurry! Help Send David Bracetty to FOWA

Nick La, over at WebDesignerWall recently contacted me with a cool story. A college student by the name of David Bracetty is selling ad spaces on a t-shirt in order to raise funds to go to FOWA (Future of Web Apps) in Miami, Florida. He will be wearing the t-shirt both days in an effort to pay for his trip. I recently purchased a couple spaces for BittBox, but time is running thin. His funds need to be raised by Feb 20th in order to get the shirt printed in time, so I decided to post about to try and help him out. If you have a website, and you can spare a cool $20, please visit David’s Website. I hope we can get you to FOWA David!!! (I remember how broke I was in college, and this is a great cause)

BittBox iPhone Winner Announcement!

Thank you all for rolling out for the Box’s 1st Birthday contest. With over 1500 people involved, the odds weren’t in anyone’s favor, but every contest has a winner. Congratulations to Philip J., of Southern California! He was the lucky winner of the iPhone, and he so graciously sent me the image below. (ok, I asked him to). And congratulations to Sean Farrell, of Canada. He was the winner of the GoMedia vector pack! Thanks to everyone for participating, and I’m going to try and make the prizes even better next year (and more of ‘em).

Announcement: The Time Has Come

Hey everyone, I have an important announcement to make. I recently quit my job in order to devote my time to BittBox! In 2 1/2 weeks time I will be BittBoxing full time and taking on select few freelance jobs. You can expect a much more active BittBox.com in the near future. (and a little more insight into who I actually am) It will take some time to get moved and settled, and the next 2-3 weeks will be bumpy for me, but starting in December expect a dramatic rise in activity here. I also want to apologize for a lack in activity recently, but this is a weird time in my career (quitting my job to blog full-time and all). I think you all deserve the right to know what is going on and what to expect. The design below is devoted to this change and is titled “Fresh Start.” Don’t hold back, gimme your critique, it’s how we get better :)
