Free Texture Tuesday: Grab Bag 2

Today marks the 300th texture we’ve given away here on Texture Tuesday, here’s to the next 300! I thought I’d do another grab bag set today, you can check out the first one here. Like before, these are just some textures I’ve had sitting around that deserved to be shared and used in your design projects. I need to give a shout out to Callum Chapman from Circlebox Blog for a couple of these, make sure to go tell him thanks. Enjoy!

Brush Pilot 1.0.4 Now Available

I released Brush Pilot 1.0.4 yesterday, and I recommend everyone upgrade if you haven’t already. In 1.0.4 we’ve added the Sparkle framework for automatic updates. From now on when a new version is released Brush Pilot will automatically give you the option to download an install the new version. This way you don’t have to keep track of new versions, it does it for you. Also in 1.0.4 is a bug fix that prevents BP from crashing in Snow Leopard with no Photoshop installed. This is a free upgrade for all licensed users.

The new version can be downloaded from the Brush Pilot homepage ».

Freeware Find: CapSee (OS X)

Wether you’re a programmer, designer, or just a web surfer, I’m sure you’ve accidentally hit the Caps Lock key before. Especially if you’re a terrible typer, like myself, this can get really annoying. I like anything that keeps annoying things out of my life. That’s why as soon as I found CapSee, I immediatley downloaded and installed it. CapSee is an exptremely simple app for OS X that will display a bezel on screen when you accidentally hit the Caps Lock key. Simply Awesome. (in my opinion)

Free Texture Tuesday: Colored Dark Grunge

Each one of these textures was made by combining 6-10 textures in different layers in Photoshop, along with some color overlays. I consider them to be some of the best examples of grunge textures that I’ve ever made, I hope you think the same! In the next few weeks I’m going to try and return to my roots and start shooting more photographic textures, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Enjoy!

Font Update: Billy Argel

Granted, some of these aren’t entirely that recent, but I haven’t posted about fonts in a while. All three of these fonts are from one of my favorite font designers, Billy Argel. All of them have somewhat of a western feel to them, which I enjoy. They can be downloaded free for personal use, but commercial licenses can be purchased if you need one.
