Free Texture Tuesday: Peeling Paint
If there’s one good thing that can come from living in the middle of nowhere, it’s the fact that we have lots of old and decrepit buildings around…ripe with awesome textures. These textures came from an old glass recycling plant that we have around here that hasn’t been open for decades I’m sure. I’m really tempted to sneak inside to see what kind of textures I can find inside too. Enjoy!

Click on the image and you can download from flickr. On flickr the download link is above the image, it may say view all sizes?
Ok..click the link “all sizes” (when you are viewing the image on flickr). Then click original (the largest size) and then the download link is right above the image.
Tremendous images! How something so simple can look so cool. You’ve given me some great ideas thanks
As always, these are some beautiful textures. Thanks for sharing :)

Beautiful. Good eye for beauty in unexpected places. There is a parable in this.

Being an artist and faux finisher, I have actually created these type of textures for sets but there is nothing like the real thing. I love your textures. My son is an urban explorer and has taken photos of hundreds of walls, doors, etc. of peeling paint just like yours. Some walls have old paint just ‘dripping’ from them with lots of different colors underneath. Thanks for sharing yours and if you decide to go inside the old buildings that you mentioned, be sure to take extra caution. Not only are some of these buildings unsafe, many still have asbestos in them, bats, birds, rats, and I would advise you to wear protective clothing and a respirator. My son and his group are ‘experts’ on urban exploring and they use all types of protective gear. Never explore large buildings alone either or at least let someone know where you are. Oh, one more thing….if there is a “No Trespassing” sign visible, be very careful. My son ended up in a bit of trouble when he didn’t heed the warning.
