Found Freebie: High-Res Watercolor Textures
The folks over at the Go Mediazine blog just released a set of 2 High-Res Watercolor Textures for everyone to feast on. You can never have too many textures, and these are 2 good ones. (jpeg format) While your there, be sure to check out the rest of their freebies section, and they have some great design tutorials as well.

I really like your site and appreciate all of your work and resources. I’ve been using Photoshop and Illustrator for 12 years and I’ve learned a lot of the new features in the Creative Suite thanks to your tutorials.
I just wish you would remove the ads from directly under the subjet of the post. I don’t blame you for wringing out some income from the service you are providing, I just think as a designer you’d understand how intrusive it is to our (your readers) experience here on your site.
I disagree with capret. You are providing amazing value. I’m not here for a “seamless user experience”. I don’t care how intrusive your ads are, you are putting considerable effort into feeding us bitts and deserve a return for your effort.
capret, support bittbox by visiting some of those links you complain about, You’re getting freebees… and even better free training and tips. If you want great tutes without ads, go to lynda.com. (You’ll miss out on the freebees though :)
Serious… free stuff and great techniques… if you don’t like the ads, try and find something this great without them…

I completely agree with carpet, the ads under the logo and in the header should not be there and is intrusive. maybe a more suitable place down or on the right will be a better one.
every site should have a ‘user experience consideration’ and a site with so much value shuld take this consideration to the next step – this is not only a depot for grabbing stuff, as you, Mark refer to – this is a content site, thus user experience is very important and it has nothing to do with not appreciating the effort or not supporting bittbox.
No this is not a site for “grabbing stuff” Quint. In fact, I’ve never actually used any freebies, though have bettered my work through the tutes here and used some of the fonts bitt has pointed out.
I’ve been a regular here for ages… before bittbox was as huge as it now is. I remember a time when there were no ads. If you look through the early posts you’ll see me commenting that bittbox needs a donate button. I’m a firm believer in supporting someone who puts in efforts such as this. It’s a well documented fact that “intrusive” ad placement generates the most clicks. I’m hoping bittbox generates enough cash for bitt to drop the day job and feed us bitts full time. That would be cool.
Onwards and upwards bittbox!
I agree whole heartedly with Mark. BittBox is one of the few places I can rely on for quality free stuff. There could be ads all over the place and I still check my Bloglines every morning hoping to see a post from Bitt!
The examples you use make it so that most designers just can’t help but snatch the freebies:-)
