BB Free Font: Conglomerfont

It’s done! Conglomerfont is a free font created by myself and the design community from all over the world, on nearly every continent via email. I asked people to send individual letters to my inbox, and I coagulated the submissions into a single font, hence the name, Conglomerfont. Below you’ll find a list of all of the contributors, and a link to their websites. Thanks to everyone who participated, and if you didn’t get into the font this time around, don’t worry, I plan on doing another conglomerfont in the future. :)

  1. Cool looking font thanks Bitt!!!!

  2. This font is ubercool. ;-)

  3. I think you should include a world map, showing where every letter came from! That would be neat!

    Congrats on the finish btw.

  4. Excellent - it all came together very nicely.

  5. Awesome! congrats on making this happen!

  6. Wild font! Nice work everyone!

  7. So cool and great fun to be a part of.

  8. I forgot to add, thanks for all your work.

  9. I love it! Thanks

  10. i don’t want to sound mean or rude, I think this is an interesting idea and im glad it worked out for you, but i just really dont see myself ever using this font. now, a matching typeface of some of those different fonts would be pretty sweet. but mismatched like that, not all that useful.

just my opinion. chime in if you agree, or think im totally missing this vision. :P

  11. This is my most anticipated font all year. It looks good and shows great creative minds. Next up.. Conglomercons… Icons from the design community from all over the world?

  12. I have to admit Zach, looking at the letters individually, I was dubious that they would be a font I would want to use in any project. However, looking at it finished, and the little preview piece that Bitt put together, I think I finally “get it” and it’s awesome!

  13. Great typeface. I’ve got a question to ask though. Does anyone know how to go about creating a typeface? For example what software I should use or resources. I’m not even sure where to start. And I’d love to create cool typefaces like this one.

  14. That’s an awesome font and a awesome idea to, to get everyone to design a letter and stuff quite an awesome concept.

  15. Although I didn’t get to submit anything this time around, I will be eagerly waiting the next round.

Also I think this was a stellar idea, and everyone did an amazing job to create something very worth while.

    Congrats.

  16. haha awesome :) how fun. I now realize how quickly you notice your work/freebies in other peoples work(like the movie trailier and bonoroo ad). my letter jumped out like a sore thumb.

  17. i guess itll grow on me with time. i hope so anyway :P

am not sure about the conglomericon idea. maybe the same thing. i think id have to see that in action too, because to me, the beauty of an icon set is the cohesiveness of it. maybe if a set of guidelines was laid down ala Tango, that could work. just another thought.

  18. Such a great idea!! Love it! You and all the contributors ROCK!!!!

  19. it came out really well. :D im happy to be part of this. yey! :D

  20. Looks great. Thanks for making this happen. And I already have a project I could use it for.

  21. tGM/thegreenmandarine

Gratz all of u who participated i this great project :)

  22. legendary!

  23. awesome!!!

  24. This is a great project! BUT the font looks horrible though… sorry.

  25. Very well done to everyone who contributed to this project. A fantastic idea, very well realised!

  26. WOW i am proud to be one of the author of this FONT!!!!!
I am the “C” manager LOL

  27. Indeed, good idea, crappy font.
There are some nice ones though, some of them even have matching styles. Shame, could of been a useful font…

  28. Thanks for the font. I agree with one of the earlier posters, is there any way you could do a tutorial on how to create a font from scratch. Thanks again.

  29. Very cool. I’m really diggin’ “s” and “J”. Thanks much!

  30. yay! nice, nice, nice! i’m so proud to have contributed! (i’m the number 4)

thanks so much for your hard work on this, bitt!

  31. I think of this website as a muse for ideas and a collaboration of designers and this font is an excellent example of this. Im proud to be lower case i. Thankyou bitbox.

  32. what a neat idea & great collection - thanks bb!

  33. Best idea ever! What an inspiration..

  34. The O looks like a sphincter.

  35. [...] Get it HERE. [...]

  36. hehe finally thats really cool and it got a gd quality.

Will there be another font that will be made like this? =)

  37. Maybe I’m a little slow but… are the uppercase E and F missing from the preview above? (yes i know that you can see them in the word “CONGLOMERFONT”)

    Interesting project!

  38. i’m starting to wonder if you people think for yourselves anymore.
The idea is tons of fun and all, but this font has no application. That is the truth.

  39. Wow, amazing!! It really took my interest when I heard about this at fast - so coool outcome! :) Great job!

  40. regardless of its use…it’s nice to see how it all comes together, well done people :)

  41. Does the font have all the ?><,./”‘:; etc. marks too?

  42. What should be done next is a font that has similar styles but each letter is submitted by a different person.
Say, each person does a grunge letter, or each person sends in a hand written letter. That way they all match. They results could be cool.

  43. What fun!

  44. Hi Bittbox, good stuff there :) I like the community freebie thing. Keep up the good work. You rock ! :)

  45. The next font will include more characters, and we’ll make it more cohesive. I liked the community involvement in this project, and I do plan on doing it again, but learning from this first one, and making the next one better.

Thanks to everyone again for participating.

    Jay Hilgert

  46. wow wow

  47. Wow, that turned out a lot cooler than I expected. I’m sure you’ll see it in a lot of future works!

  50. Great idea, great job!

  51. Forget about it. I just read the launching thread. Great to use free license ;-)
