BittBox Reader Jeff F tipped me off about this neat little Illy trick. It just so happens that if you hold down the “tilde” key on your keyboard, you can get a neat effect using any of Illustrator’s drawing tools. Holding down the tilde key, (the little squiggly line above the tab key, left of the number 1 on your keyboard.) while using a drawing tool will cause Illustrator to repeat the shape rapidly as you move your mouse. Examples after the jump. Thanks Jeff!
After my first texture release, some of you mentioned you might find some ‘paper’ textures useful, so I guess you could say that this is a requested freebie. Not much else to say other than keep the requests coming. Download the High Res images from Flickr by clicking on the pics. The full size images are 2005 X 3000 px :)
Sorry for the slow week everyone. Oklahoma City (my home) got hit with a wicked ice storm and I haven’t had power for more than 5 days. And I’m told it could take up to 2 weeks to get the internet back up for everyone in the city. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running full-speed soon : (

Adobe has released a Flash Player 9 update that is now supporting HD quality web video and audio playback! Download it Here. Official Press release Here.
For any of you not aware of this contest, Crestock.com (Stock Photos) is holding a Photoshop contest and the deadline for the last round is next Tuesday, December 11th. The prize? A Mac Pro with dual(2) 30″ Cinema displays. Can you afford not to enter? I know I am, but the competition will likely be intense, so better get started early. Contest Details Here
I’ve never given away textures before, but if everyone likes them, I’ll start making more. (I actually get quite a few requests for textures via email) The first set just happens to be rock, but let me know if you crave more. I’m still getting the hang of the photography thing, but I’m trying because I want to give away more images in the future.

jlwDesign has released some killer vector freebies into the wild, and I mean killer. Definitely going in my file vault, these vectors kick ass. (and I think some of them were made with a few BittBox Brushes). Awesome job jlw! and Thanks!
