I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was recently contacted by the people at PlainTextures.com about all of their freebies. PlainTextures is a site to bookmark because they have a good collection of high quality free images in a wide variety of categories. Even you aren’t in need of free textures right now, it’s definitely a save for later kind of resource.
For this week, I’ve got some retro wallpaper textures with a twist. I took pictures of some vintage wallpaper designs, inverted them and rendered difference clouds, then applied a small amount of lighting. These would probably work nicely as a low opacity overlay to add a little more texture to a background that already exists but needs a little more spice. Hope you put them to good use. It’s grab bag time again! I’ve got some random textures for everyone this week. I’m still amazed at how I never get tired of taking textures. I just kinda wish I could be a 3D model nija and use all of them on a daily basis. Ok, I’ll stop rambling. Hope you guys like them. The carpet one came out pretty good :) Also, hit me up on the contact page for some “Ask BB” or “Tutorial Requests.” I think it’s time for some more learning.
I’ve got some neat textures for everyone this week! Cracked/Busted Cell Phone Screens! These screens all came off of the old Nokia 5110 series. I had to crack them and scan them right away because after you let them sit, they loose a lot of their vibrant colors. They were pretty fun to make, so I hope you enjoy them.
