I’ve got a great freebie for everyone today. A new stock vector site, TheVectorLab.com would like to spread some love to the design community with a sample vector pack. Vectorlab is a great new site with a growing collection of high quality stock vectors for designers. Even better, you can apply as a contributor and earn a 60% commission on the vector art you sell. Yet another great way to put your creativity to good use during a recession. Even Even Better: TheVectorLab donates 5% of their proceeds to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital. :)

There’s not a whole lot to say about cardboard textures, so here are some links to websites that utilize cardboard in their design: Helmy Bern, Carbonica, and Clemente. Hopefully you can find some rad uses for these cardboard textures as well. Enjoy!

This is a rather unusual post, but a few emails have come in pointing out some BittBox stuffs being used to break the news. It’s kinda neat seeing people put this stuff to good use, and an example of just how far-reaching sharing resources online can go.

I’ve got an awesome contest this week, a contest where everbody is a winner. Alex, my cohort over at Designious.com is going to read all of your comments and design a custom vector pack, according to what the majority of you want. All you have to do is let us know what vector pack you would enjoy, Alex will make it, and it will be given away to everyone as an exclusive freebie here at BittBox. Remember, you aren’t choosing one of the current Designious vector packs, Alex is going to make a NEW one!, You can be as creative as you like in your suggestions, so let’s hear it. What kind of vector pack do you want the most?

What could possibly be more useful than a good wrinkled paper texture? Not much. Paper textures seem to be used consistently across most forms of digital art, from graphic design to photography to web design. If you make something awesome with these textures, why not share it with us in the comments or Flickr pool? We’d love to see them.

Its time for some more free stuff everyone, and I have a nice little giveaway for you! The kind folks over at Electric Rain have offered up 3 more copies of Swift3D V5 ($249 value each) to 3 lucky BittBox commenters. If you’re not familiar with Swift3D, it’s a very powerful 3D modeling/animation software that makes it super easy and fast to create stunning 3D animations and import them directly into Flash without writing a single line of code.
