I haven’t done an inspiration post in a while, and I was browsing Flickr this morning, so I thought I’d share some cool typography I found. I’m calling these “portrait typography,” but you may have a different name for them. I like using type as a texture, but this is on the next level. Have a look and see what you think.

We’ve all seen them and we have the graphic designers curse to silently critique them. Yes, bad restaurant menu design is alive and well and I found a Flickr Group devoted to sharing some of them with the world. If you have a spare minute to browse this group, I assure you, it will make you feel better about that design you “weren’t quite happy with but had to go with it because of a deadline.”

Anyone in need of a little inspiration? I recently came across a great Flickr group called Mixed Media with Photography. It’s an invite-only group, but there are tons of awesome images to look at. Some truly amazing stuff. Have a peek, and get inspired.
