Free Stuff: Introducing Brush Pilot for Mac – Comment to win
In case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to lately, well, here it is. After lots of hard work and testing, I’m proud to release my latest pet project, Brush Pilot 1.02. It’s a lightweight, fast Photoshop Brush Previewer for OS X. In the spirit of BittBox, I’m giving away 3 free copies to some lucky commenters. Make sure and read the rules, and good luck!

Awesome! I’ve been wanting (and asking for) an app like this for the Mac. I have tons of brushes I’ve collected over the years, but trying to remember what’s what is nearly impossible. I know I’ve got some brushes that would be great for certain projects, but could never figure out which ones they are. This is going to solve so many problems and take less time. AWESOME!!

This has to be the coolest app I have seen in a while. Since I have so many different brush set I sometimes forget which set has which brush. If it is a light weight and user friendly, it could be a great addition to any designers or artist arsenal of tool. It would have a special place next to PS in my dock and most likely be open all the time just like fave Adobe products. Great Job on developing and bringing it to the world. Thanks.

Never thought a font organiser/preview would be that useful, then i used one and finding fonts has become a whole lot easier…Since finding a load of Ps brushes I would find something like this v.useful indeed.

Ultimately one of the best applications/utilities to ever grace the platform of the OSX.
How useful is it i hear you ask? well remember all those time you have wanted a specific brush and had to slow down your photoshop so much just by getting impatient and loading loads of libraries in at once? well thats now a thing of the past. With its ease to use and complimentary UI, Brush Pilot slots in nicely to my dockbar and looks like it has always belonged there. Come on Adobe, package it with the next release!!

Wow. I remember searching for something like this a little over two years ago. I eventually ended up creating a book full of brushes. It was over 200 pages and I hand stamped 6 brushes onto each page through Photoshop. Too bad I didn’t understand actions back then…

This is great. Tumasoft has one for PC and for newer Macs that can run virtual PC. Unfortunately I run an older mac…I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Good on ya! (golf clap)

Great idea. When I first started using Adobe Bridge I just thought for sure I would be able to see a good preview of brushes but no luck. Congratulations on having the skills and initiative to deliver a great and useful application.

id love to see something this simple and fast for fonts also, I find the current batch of font managers somewhat bloated n slow
Seriously, I’ve searched in vain for a year for something just like this. I could not believe the built-in method was actually tolerated by professionals. This is a godsend. And I found it by accident. I can’t thank you enough. Very, very fair pricing, too. Someone else said your time investment will save millions of man-hours. Not only is that true, but it will make design easier, by removing all the speedbumps and obstacles to experimentation. You saw an ass and kicked it, my friend. Well done, and thanks again.
Awesome app Jay. Though I must say that something similar is already available for Mac. It’s a Quick Look plugin which lets you preview the brushes (including size). It’s nowhere as powerful as Brush Pilot though. So yeah I’d love to win a copy. Good luck with the launch!

There was another app a bit like this a while back, but it was written in Java and felt very slow and not lacked the polish of this app. This looks like the perfect answer to the slow brushes interface inside Photoshop.
