Please – many of those points could apply to any profession merely by replacing a word or two. Specialized jargon and difficult clients exist in every business. Get over yourselves.

You get phone calls from friends and family members on a regular, sometimes annoyingly-frequent basis, wanting your services for free or extremely cheap. (and the “portfolio” line makes you want to throw something across the room)

You make funny typos like “strange your client” since you were in such a lather about your hardcore reasons that you didn’t bother to reread your post. hee hee.

A few more:

You start getting a bad rash when your client asks you “what software you build your websites on”

You find Futura a cop-out.

You fall back in love with Helvetica.

You wonder why no cool arty bands have called themselves Akzidenz-Grotesk.

You wonder why anyone other than book or magazine designers would use InDesign or Quark.

You want to strange your client when s/he asks you to change the font to something other than a system font for a website (sIFR excluded) after you’ve repeatedly told them why.

You actually hate live trace and get annoyed when your pen tool menu is not already open.

Uh, Our logo is in Papyrus Font, clearly that had been designed before I arrived here! Also number 4 drives me crazy! I spend all day turning Jpegs into vector formations. Ahhh but how I couldnt imagine doing anything else!
