I had fun making these. I’m constantly trying to push my Illustrator skills to the limit, so I was experimenting, and I came up with this set of freebies in the process. I don’t even know what to call these free vectors. Swirls, ornaments, swooshes, I don’t know. Call them what you want, but I hope you like them. Download AI, EPS, or SVG.

Photoshoppers, this little freebie can save you hours if you create buttons or bars for web layouts on a regular basis. Dezinerfolio.com has done all the hard work for us already. All you have to do is download and install the file, and start making Web 2.0 buttons in seconds using the layer styles in Photoshop.

These free vectors are part 8 of the ongoing ‘Random Free Vectors’ series here on BittBox. I call them “modern arrows,” but you may call them something different. I’ve seen these types of shapes being used in a lot of illustration in the past couple years, so I sat down for an evening and created some to share. I hope you find them useful! Remember you can post your designs in the BittBox User Showcase group @ Flickr to show us how you put them to use! Files are available in AI, EPS, and SVG.

**New to BittBox** the Showcase section. No, this isn’t a showcase for MY work, I’m showing off YOUR work. BittBox will choose one artist each month from the BittBox User Showcase Group at Flickr to be featured on BittBox with 5-10 works, along with a short interview. This is just one more way BittBox is trying to help designers/artists and the design community in general. By funneling traffic to individual artists and showcasing their designs, we not only get some KILLER INSPIRATION, but the artists get exposure at the same time. Good luck, and say hello to our first artist: Michael Brito.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a sucker for fonts. Here’s another good one you shouldn’t miss – Myndraine by Christopher Miller. Not only is it decent looking and clean, Myndraine is a pretty robust font, with tons of extra characters and uncommon glyphs. The download includes both .ttf (true type) and .otf (open type) formats! You may not have a use for this font now, but I always like to keep them in the bag for later. I can picture this font used in a website/blog logo. Also, if you are a font junkie and a BittBox regular, you will notice that “Fonts” is the latest addition to the categories. (p.s. More additions/features coming very soon ;)

If you download a lot of Photoshop brushes, or presets to extend any software for that matter, there is a very easy way to install them quickly on a Mac using OS X. This little OS X tip could shave off at least 1 or 2 clicks from your installation process.
