It was a bright sunny day here in OKC today, and I got lucky enough to get some good shots of some photogenic cloud formations. I’m not the best photographer in the world, but they are really big, so even though they might not be the clearest images, they can still be used nicely under the right conditions. Today we have a useful set of free web and mobile user interface elements that was made for us by Callum Chapman. The set includes menus, dialog boxes, sliders, search boxes and more, all available in three different color schemes. They’re perfect for your web design projects as is, but you can edit them to your exact liking with the fully layered PSD that’s included in the download. If you find the set useful feel free to follow @callumchapman on twitter and tell him thanks.
I’ve got another set of guest textures from Dave again this week. These are some really, really old wood textures. They are very unique and not easily duplicated, so thanks a bunch Dave! (You can click on the images and get the full size ones from Flickr)
I’ve been up to my old tricks again. A while back I was asking around to see if anyone would be interested in getting huge discounts on fonts, and the overwhelming majority of you said yes. Therefore, FontDeals.com was born. We all know how much you can save on software when purchasing bundles, so I wanted to provide the same service for fonts, which technically is software as well. For the inaugural bundle, we will be offering 15 font families (29 fonts total) for $49. That’s a 90% savings of $457. More information to come soon. I’ve been tweeting about it a bit, but I wanted to make a formal announcement. I will be making another announcement when it launches (probably 2 weeks) but you can go to fontdeals.com and enter your email address and I’ll be sending out an email announcement as soon as it goes live!
This week, I’ve got a set of guest textures from Dave. Dave wanted me to share some of his textures on BittBox, so here we go. The first set is some really grungy pipe images. (You can click on the images and get the full size ones from Flickr)
I give away a LOT of stuff here on BittBox, mainly textures and brushes. The truth is, many of the textures are manufactured using recycled images I already have hanging around on my hard drive. I want to share one of my favorite ways to quickly add a little extra to a rather uninteresting texture, without using Photoshop brushes.
