Today I have a set of five various textures that I’ve pulled from my own archive. Hopefully you can find something here that will fit in with a design you’re working on. Enjoy!

This Friday’s freebie is a set of eight high-res (2400px+) flying bird photoshop brushes. I made these from photographs I’ve taken of birds and flocks over the years, I think they turned out really well. Birds are a great addition to many designs and styles and I hope you can find a way to incorporate these into your work. Put a bird on it!
Today we have a guest tutorial by Dustin from Vallys In The Vinyl, a brand new texture blog where he’s releasing some of the best freebies around. He’ll be showing you how to create a surrealist portrait in Photoshop using photo manipulation and textures. Enjoy!

I located these textures on the ceiling of an old outdoor gazebo nearby. Reportedly, elderly folks used to play cards underneath it from time to time. But where there used to be good times, now shows the wear and tear of withstanding the elements for many decades. Makes for some good textures though ;) Enjoy!

And the 10 lucky winners are: Simon, jeannie, Sue Brettell, MAANJO, Akshay Sawant, Victor Abadio, Pablo Lara H, Aubrey, Adam, and Craig Paterson. It was a pretty small contest, with only 50 comments, so you had a one in five chance of winning! The winners will be contacted shortly about how to claim your prize!
To start off the week, we’ve got some really cool free stuff. Our friends at Designious.com, who so generously offer freebies on a regular basis, have launched a brand new premium design resource site today called DesignTNT.com. It’s a subscription-based site, so you can really get some good deals with the right kind of account and diligent downloading. I’ve got 10 Pro accounts (good for 1 month) to give away to some lucky BittBoxers, make sure and read the rules (they’ve changed a bit) and good luck!
