Just as iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users have been doing for months, the new Mac App Store will provide productivity applications, gaming apps, music, video and a huge assortment of powerful programs and apps that can be installed on your computer just like the regular App Store has worked for Apple’s other devices.

@Tamar, try moving the folder a bit to the left of the trashcan and hold it until the dock (the space between the trashcan and the dotted line) expands to make room, then drop the folder on that spot. If the trashcan is bigger than normal, keep moving the folder a bit more to the left until that happens. Otherwise, yeah, it goes in the trash. gl!

@Becca, I think it will change to folder icon if you right-click the stack and select display as "folder" rather than "stack." gl!

When I do this it shows up as the individual icons stacked together, not the folder. Any advise on how to get the folder icon to show up instead would be great

For some reason the Applications folder does not appear in my "Macintosh HD". It appears in the sidebar and says it exists in the root directory, but is "invisible" on the drive itself. Any ideas on how to get it to reappear?

You could go a step further and make a categorized application folder... :)

I detailed how on MacOSXHints (check the comments):
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050430200221176

Lately, however, I find that I use Quicksilver for opening apps anyway, so I don't use the dock as much as a launcher.

Keep up the great work!
