Never hurts to ask why get cranky if they get piad for bits at a time.

I do have a bit of a solution:

While it is conference ticket and not the workshop as well, I have offered mine up for charity. You can donate and if you feel like helping one of these guys out you can just request that I assign it to them instead. One gets their ticket and charity gets a little help.

I wanna know why they can’t get their on their own. Their customers include Apple, MSN, MTV and Sony Ericsson, and they can’t afford a vacation?

I had to borrow money to get to the FOWD last year. The most major problem I had was getting a US VISA since 99.9% of people from my country get disapproved. I even had to pay for the FOWD event even before I had acquired a VISA because I had to present the receipt for this event to the consul officers to make them believe that my sole purpose of going to the US is to attend this event (Yes, it was very risky for me). Other than the receipt, I had to present to them my bank certificates, passbooks, evidence of properties, family photos and a whole lot more to show that I had enough ties in my country. I had I spent almost $7,000 for my VISA interview, FOWD ticket, plane tickets, accommodation in NY, food, transportation, etc. I came back from NY broke. It upsets me how others will just blog away and post photos of them trying to look pity considering what I had to go through then just to attend the FOWD.

@Adam some people do instead of sit and think about doing. You don’t have to pay for them to go with you “hard earned” money. Its a voluntary action which is what makes the web so great! :)

Rather than give them money, I can do better! I can give them advice!

If you want to take a trip and travel to a new country and you don’t have the money, take on another job or use your talent and experience to work hard to find more freelance work so you can go.

This is what the rest of us do rather than asking other people, who are working very hard to pay bills, to pay for you.
