Forum Find: CS3 Works After Leopard Upgrade
In preparation for OS 10.5 Leopard’s release tomorrow, I’ve been poking around the Apple forums and came across a user that claims CS3 is still working after his Leopard Upgrade. I’ve heard tons people begging for an answer to this question, so I thought you all would like to know. Here is the thread, Just installed Leopard by user ray sharpe. He also states that these other apps are working perfectly in Leopard: “Biz, Skype, Handbrake, Toast, Limewire, EyeTV, SiteSucker, Google Earth, Earth Browser, Suitcase Fusion, Parallels, ECI Client V5 (tax), Uncoverit and SnapZ pro.”

I will be upgrading to Leopard Friday night, and I’ll let you all know how it goes. I’m personally interested to see if Cyberduck and TextMate are also in the clear. I have a copy of CS1 lying around, so I’ll install that and let everyone know if it works after the upgrade. I hope this guy is for real, cause it sure eases my mind a bitt.

Yes, please I am ready to break down and buy it. But I might have enough reserve to do it Saturday because tomorrow here in Los Angeles would be crazy
I can’t wait. My copy gets here tomorrow! If you all haven’t already, you absolutely have to check out the tutorial on Apple’s site. And hey, if you can’t afford it (like me) get some buddies together and rob a store. Wait no. I meant buy the family pack. It’s like $30 more and you get 5 copies.
Cheerio!
Thanks so much for that info - I have been anxiously wondering that myself…
Here in Sydney, we have 90 minutes to go for the release - so I’m off to get my copy now! See ya…
For your information: I got an E-Mail from Adobe-Support, that it is not for shure, that Adobe CS3 will still be working after a Lepoard Upgrade. And if it’s gonna work, you won’t get any support from Adobe.
Hi Bitt,
have you got any more useful programs that you can recommend to make life easier? the few programs you mentioned above i have not heard of before and have now purchased/downloaded them. cool stuff!
Thanks
I found this which has a few nice little applications within: http://freelanceswitch.com/working/35-absolutely-essential-mac-apps/
I’ve been burned by many Apple upgrades (going all the way back to System 7), and I can only offer one bit of advice for everyone running out to their local Apple Store today:
Wait.
Unless you want to spend the next week tearing what little hair you may have out, wait on upgrading to Leopard. While it may work perfectly well with CS3, it may not with Suitcase or QuickBooks or something else that you’re not thinking of.
There’s no reason to be an unofficial beta-tester. Chill out and let others screw up their computers. While they’re crying and screaming in forums over Leopard’s idiosyncrasies, you’ll have a working machine and be able to steal their clients.
I second Uncle Deercamp. Since I’ll be getting it through my uni, it’ll be a couple months before Apple & the school get their shtuff together and start upgrading our systems.
There are still critical flaws in CS3 on Leopard.
Try using the circular mask tool and a fixed size, when you try and type the width and height values the text field will begin teleporting across the screen and randomly ignoring or overwriting input….
Or you can (do as I plan to do) install it on an extra hard drive and leave your main drive alone. Gotta love the MacPro!
Re Leopard, I\’m definitely going to wait.
Bitt - I\’ve never heard of half of those programmes listed - could you make a post saying what each does and whether it\’s useful?
Thanks

i bit the bullet and bought when Leopard was $99 pre-order sale (found thru dealmac.com). but… i’ll be waiting until AT LEAST 10.5.1 or .2 before i install on my precious MBPro.
i think it’s the smart thing to do.
altho i’m going back and forth regarding doing a clean install versus an archive and install (which i’ve always done since Jaguar and never had any problems). i’m just not sure i want to have to reinstall everything again!
Cyberduck, TextMate, CS3, and Coda all seem to be working fine. (for what I use them for) I’m not recommending anyone upgrade, but I’ll be the guinea pig since I have 2 systems. I’ll post about CS1. Soon.

adobe just released this pdf http://www.adobe.com/support/products/pdfs/leopardsupport.pdf
Corporate finance is an area of finance dealing with the financial decisions corporations make and the tools and analysis used to make these decisions. The primary goal of corporate finance is to maximize corporate value while reducing the firm’s financial risks. Although it is in principle different from managerial finance which studies the financial decisions of all firms, rather than corporations alone, the main concepts in the study of corporate finance are applicable to the financial problems of all kinds of firms.
The discipline can be divided into long-term and short-term decisions and techniques. Capital investment decisions are long-term choices about which projects receive investment, whether to finance that investment with equity or debt, and when or whether to pay dividends to shareholders. On the other hand, the short term decisions can be grouped under the heading “Working capital management”. This subject deals with the short-term balance of current assets and current liabilities; the focus here is on managing cash, inventories, and short-term borrowing and lending (such as the terms on credit extended to customers).
The terms Corporate finance and Corporate financier are also associated with investment banking. The typical role of an investment banker is to evaluate investment projects for a bank to make investment decisions.
