Call for Images: Show us your Workspace

Workspaces are always interesting, and I’d like to give all of you a chance to share with us! You’ll find a few photos of my workspace below, but I’d like to see yours. I’ve started a BittBox User Workspaces group at Flickr where you can add your images. You can also email photos to me at contact(at)bittbox.com if you like. Once we have enough to look at I’ll make a special post. You can include your name and what you do with the photos if you wish. (makes it a little more interesting)

Remember, to add a photo to a group on flickr, first upload your image, join the group, then go to your image page and (right above your photo) click “send to group” and choose BittBox User Workspaces from the list.

If you like this desk it’s called the “Stix desk“and I got it at Eurway for $219 (not including the side piece). And the chair from Target (Otto High Back Chair) also for $219. (not bad really)

  1. Impressive. Very tidy.
I really like the desk and chair. Good finds!

  2. Very nice, I’ll have to take pictures of my space tonight!

  3. I like the simplicity of your workspace! Very clean! Think about throwing up some art or other items that inspire you and your craft!

  4. man love the lone t-square on the wall. good stuff! great lighting!

  5. Dude, that is the cleanest area I have ever seen. In my life. Ever. Great idea for a topic, it’s awesome to see how other people who do what we do work!

  6. I wish my workspace looked half as decent as that. Mine is confined to a cramped corner of my bedroom.

  7. Just added mine. No zen to my workspace but it’s very functional. You have a nice clean functional looking setup, very nice.

  8. Where’s your Wacom? ;-)

  9. wow- it’s like a little showroom!
    where are your files?
if you sing, does it echo?
if it doesn’t already have one, i think your Tsquare deserves a name to go with the special space allocation!

  10. Stefan,

I’m saving up for a killer wacom (about $1500). It’s going to be my next big purchase.

  11. You have alot of wires hanging there. Maybe you could clean those up a bit and organize them. It detracts from the workspace.

  12. @smitty

Very true! My next goal is to tackle some wire management.

  13. Great idea! I just added a pic to the pool.

  14. Very clean for an artist, lol.
Love the white chair and the iMac, they do match, the white and the silver colors. Cool!

  15. wow

  16. Awesome!! Too tidy for my taste :P I love the Lava Lamp!! :O

  17. Very nice.

My desk space is that tidy…in my mind, lol.

  18. Clean, hell that space is immaculate!

My workspace looks and is treated more like a dorm room. It is lived in, Partied in, slept in, ect…

    My workspace comes equipped with:

-a paper desktop because there is so many papers on top of the desk you can’t see the wood.

-a mini fridge in arms reach for long night work-a-thons and working lunch breaks

-a brain board also known as a bulletin board filled to capacity with post-it notes and doodles

The normal items make an appearance too, (computer, Wacom tablet, inbox, files… ect) those are just the luxury items…

    :)

  19. HAH! just wait til i get mine posted! then youll see what a sweet workspace looks like!
    NOT

  20. Bitt,

Just an idea for the wires, double sided velcro works great, and its faily cheap and easy to move when needed. I’ve used it all around my office at work.

  21. That chair is pretty sweet. Although you did corner yourself into wire managment problems putting a glass desk in the center of a room :)

  22. Nice. That is what my set will look like one day!

  23. Wow is that a real Charles Eames chair? I am impressed. And everyone is going on about the electronic stuff .. lol.

  24. “wire managment problems” chad, thats pretty silly!

  25. If wires are a big worry.. i reckon you could buy those plastic spirals that wrap around wires and bunch together pretty nicely for a small hand full of bucks; but really.. unless there a real hazard, then its just asthetics.

  26. I go a similar desk thru Crate and Barrel. The side part swings underneath the desk to create more space. Mine is nowhere near as organized!

  27. Too clean. Bet it took you days to get it cleaned up for the photo. I received an “award” last year from my employees for the “Cleanest desk…for 1 day”. I had bought a new desk and put things in their place…then day 2 started.

  28. wow, you have one of them offices where anyone could sit down and work … without feeling as though there at someone else’s desk. Its so clean, anyone could set up shop!

Mine is awful compared to that lol. But I want a glass desk after seeing this :)

  29. Hey!!! i´m doing exactly the same in my blog with the latinamerican bloggers. Have a look:

  30. Mmmm so many macs :)

  31. Hot workspace, Bitt :-D

  32. Very nice workspace. I love the hardwood and the white chair. The lava lamp and T-square are great too. But my favorite is the space heater by the feet, and the positioning of your desk under the fan. Everything looks very comfy! =D

  33. I LOVE the space heater blowing on the feet!

    ~Bitt

  34. Don’t laugh too much at my pink desk!

  35. Nice all you need is a sketching table

  36. bittbox, do your feet feel all tingly with the blower? my feet get all sweaty and stinky and my cat likes to lick them when they are all hot. I was wondering if you would send me your home address so I can send you some cashews!

  37. I have the exact same desk. Unless you feel the need to move your desk around a lot in your room, or switch the return to change up the pace, might I suggest you get some zip ties and run all the wires on the inside of the metal bar underneath the desk. I ran mine all down the inside through the return to a surge protector mounted on the wall next to the outlet.

Barely notice them at all. Only thing that sucks (and my major complaint with this desk) is that if you want to move the desk around you have to cut all the zip ties and redo your work. But I am anal when it comes to that 5#1T so I don’t mind all that much.

  38. I also experimented with putting wires through some PVC piping painted that same funky silver color, but it didn’t look right, the black zip ties placed next to the black wood support blend in so well you will hardly notice that they exist from the other side of the desk.

  39. realy cool workplace !!
