That's my main reason why I use Aperture and why I'm going to put the money down for this upgrade. It is a really nice upgrade with .Mac integration, faster performance and an improved workflow. Lightroom is nice, but I just don't like how it lets me work with a lot of photos. Aperture has less effects to put on your photos, but I can export my images to Photoshop for that stuff. I just like to have Aperture for the management and minimal tweaks to red eye, shadows, sharpness, exposure, color saturation, etc... Hope that helps a bit. However tempting, still favour Lightrooms ultra fast browsing, mods + ease of use etc. Aperture seems to demand a top graphics card, dual screen and tons of RAM to function properly!
