On Oct 1st, Adobe launched a new online file sharing and storage service simply called “Share” (beta). The service is aimed at making it easier for creative professionals to share, deliver and receive large files without email. In order to use this service you need an Adobe ID, which is simple and free, and also gives you access to other sections of the Adobe site like the Developer Center and Exchange ( a place to download plugins and extenstions, etc. for Adobe products)

Along with the launch of Share Beta, there is news that Adobe is set to (if it hasn’t already) aquire Virtual Ubiquity Inc., the creator the online word processor called ‘Buzzword.’ Most of you might be aware of the fact that Adobe is working on an online incarnation of Photoshop, and my guess is that they simply want to aquire companies like Virtual Ubiquity to gain control of some online rich app technologies instead of starting from scratch. Wether or not they are trying to swallow up the competition by aquiring these companies is irrelevant. I’d like to think that they are applying these technologies to their own online applications in order to provide the best online apps around. We’ll see!
