Useful article. Replied my problem.

On the course I found a better way to export multiple shapes from PS to Ai. Here:

1. Select all the layers with vector shapes in PS, then right click and choose "Convert to Smart Objects.

2. While selected, go to Layer > Smart Objects > Export Contents, and save into a Smart Object File.

3. Open the file in Ai, and choose to convert the layers in to shapes. All the shapes you converted in to Smart Objects should now appear in Ai as ordinary vector shapes.

After you have done the path, save it and then click the clipping path and save it as photoshop EPS then click on the include transfer function button and that's it. You can open the file in any program including the path. Illustrator, Coreldraw, etc.

What if I want to export a logo name(scanned image) to vector, I tried the Export Paths to Illustrator option, the the final vector illustrator image is not smooth, the edges are jagged, is there any possible way to improve the edges, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou, this was a very informative and quick lesson in the transfer of paths into illustrator. That's going to make this particular project and future one's much easier.

hi,

I'm totally foreign to illustrator, but I'm trying to make a business card that contains photos and texts.

I've learned that i should submit the file as an illustrator (ai file) rather than photoshop (eps file) format, in order to keep the type looking crispy. (Vector vs Raster layout: Type created in Photoshop is rasterized and can appear to have jagged edge when printed.)

Is it possible to design my card within PS (i use CS3), and export it to illustrator, while keeping the style or size of the font?

Nice tip. I have an icon set in PSD and want to bring it into AI but your trick only lets me do it one path at a time. Any idea how to export all paths?
