I use CS4. It took me a few tries to figure out how to get this trick to work. One must be holding the ~ (tilde key) down before using any of the drawing tools. Also, let go of the mouse click before letting go of the tilde key.

Can’t get this to work at all.
I’ve tried just moving the mouse around while holding the key: nothing.
I’ve tried holding the mouse button down and moved around while holding the key: nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

Not working for me … on CS3, UK mac keyboard, tried pretty much every key including the ones mentioned :p

Maybe something to do with graphics tablet? Who knows.

the free graphics given here are more sophisticated than the tilde trick, have a closer look…

would probably be possible to create a script to make the steps sequential ensuring the same step and repeat for a precise geometrical drawing… !!

I have a norwegian keyboard, and “<” didn’t work for me.

The correct key here was “ø”.
