Random Free Vectors Part 4 - Wings
I’ve never gotten a chance to use something like this in an actual design for a client, but I love wings none the less. You see wings in design all the time, and I’m itching to use them sometime. I was playing around with some images, and ended up putting together a few vector wings. Have fun with them, and I envy you if you get to actually use them for real! The example below contains only the 3 pairs of wings provided (download below). . .

Pretty sweet, BittBox. The first one especially catches my eye as the integral element of the next grunge/gritty composition I whip up….
Bittbox .. you’re such an angel ;) Thanks again!
Very cool, will use and keep them in mind. It’s funny, now when I have a project, I check your site first for any ideas. There’s always something I might have not thought about using. Keep these up, one day I would like to see your actual work too.
Sweet.. don’t know what I can use it for yet, but I’ll keep them in mind :)
Nice. Keep up the good work! As soon as I get a decent PC, I’ll be making my over here for the great free resources!
Hey, are you just tracing these using an automatic tool, or are you manually tracing these wings and the flowers?
And which program is doing the tracing? I have a hunch it is Inkscape. I wish it had a more Illustrator-like layer pallette. That’s the only thing that is keeping me from switching. Oh, and CS 3.
@Jake Teton-Landis,
You would be correct. Whenever I trace, I use Inkscape. But since I’m more familiar with Illustrator, I always tweak it a bit afterwards in Illustrator. In the case of these wings, I think I used Object > Path > Simplify to make some subtle changes, but for the most part, the result is driven by the Settings used while tracing. (thousands, if not tens of thousands of possible combinations of settings) I have found InkScape’s trace option to be invaluable when trying to achieve certain effects. It simply leaves Illustrator in the dust with tracing. (my opinion)

Absolutely LOVE the wings. I may use the second one.
Thanks bittbox
