Random Free Vectors Part 11: Watercolors
Part 11 of the Random Free Vectors series is here, and it’s watercolor brush strokes. My Hi-Res Watercolor Photoshop Brushes I & II were quite popular, so I thought I would make some watercolor vectors for a change. No, these are not the same shapes as the PS brushes. They are completely new and only available in vector at this point (EPS & SVG). Hope you like them, and remember, you can post your designs in the BittBox User Showcase Group on Flickr if would like to show us how you put them to good use!

These are INCREDIBLE, and just what I was looking for! Actually was looking for pngs, and I found the Watercolor 2 pngs, but figured I’d try to see what these “vectors” are about. I grabbed the watercolor hi res textures that you told us about and read a Vector Tutorial over there…but have no experience with vectors. Tut said that you needed illustrator or corel draw to use vectors correctly, but that if they’re not too large you can sometimes “rasterize” in photoshop. I was wondering if you know of any freeware options that will allow me to use vectors properly…or if you have a set of these first Watercolors in pngs. I’m just getting started with digital art, and am loving every minute of it, but don’t have a ton of software tools at my disposal. Hoping there’s some free way to use these vectors (and the mag you suggested gives some great ones too!), or perhaps you can suggest how they can be utilized with only photoshop/gimp type software?
Any suggestions or tuts you can point me to will be very much appreciated, as are your fantastic offerings!!! I’ve hunted for tutorials, but its so difficult as everyone uses different terminology! lol I’ve seen png shapes referred to as vectors..csh custom shapes referred to as vectors, and abr brushes referred to as vecors..or maybe made from vectors? I’m all baffled! lol
Thanks again!!! I’m at orachel54 at yahoo.
@ Rachel,
