Free Vectors: Hand-Drawn Decorative Elements
Time for some more free vectors? Yeah, I thought so too. I had a lot of fun making these on the Wacom. Let me know how you like them in the comments. I can pump these out relatively quickly, so If everyone likes them, I’ll prep for round 2. Anyway, hope you can put them to good use :)

They look great Bitt! Do you use a tablet to trace them from self-made sketches or do you use stock images as guides?
@ferdinand,
Actually with this set, I was inspired by a t-shirt design. I snapped a picture and used the shirt as a half-guide, and made up the rest.

Thanks Bitt, these are great. Funny you got the basis from a t-shirt. I was just looking for some sketches like this to base a t-shirt design off of.
Great job. Like this hand-drawn style. Very unusual considering these are vecors. I think I’ll use them somewhere.

I have lurked here for ages, and love all your designs. This one really caught my eye, and I want to use it as a brush in CS3. How do I convert either the EPS or SVG file to ABR?
I really want to use these! Thanks for all your beautiful designs.
nice design!
annie- bitt has a good tut on making brushes. Check it out.
@anniebluesky,
Like D.A.T. mentioned, I have a tutorial on how to make a Photoshop brush here.
To convert these vectors to brushes, you can simply open them in Photoshop and rasterize them at whatever size you want before converting them to a brush.

They look great Bitt! Do you use a tablet to trace them from self-made sketches or do you use stock images as guides?
Hey Bitt, I have a question. First of all, what is the difference between SVG and Eps. I know Eps mean encapsulated post script, but I really dont even know what that means, so how do I know which one to download.
Also, did you just draw these and live trace these in Illy? If so, which option for Live Trace did you use? Whenever I try to live trace pieces go missing and when I try to re-draw ornamental things like this, my lines are messy and I cant get them to look correct! How do I get past this???
@ Rachel V.,
- SVG is a vector format for users who don’t have Illustrator. (like inkscape users) If you have illustrator, either one will work, but I’d stick with eps.
- I actually hand drew these directly on a wacom, so there wasn’t any tracing involved. When using Live Trace for hand -drawn stuff, I’d suggest the “Detailed Illustration” setting. Then play with the “Threshold setting if your lines are disappearing.
~Bitt
thanks a lot - they’re awesome.
Totally rad! Just as good as the second package. This is going to help me make some bitchin’ wedding photography work. Thanks!
