Its time for some more free stuff everyone, and I have a good little giveaway for you! The kind folks over at Electric Rain have offered up 3 copies of Swift3D V5 ($249 value each) to 3 lucky BittBox commenters. If you’re not familiar with Swift3D, it’s a very powerful 3D modeling/animation software that makes it super easy and fast to create stunning 3D animations and import them directly into Flash without writing a single line of code. Even if you don’t win, enter the promotional code “BITTBOX” to save 15% off the regular price. Details and more on the software after the jump.

About Swift3D V5:
If you haven’t ever used Swift3D, or you’ve never heard of it before, here’s the low-down. Swift3D is a 3D modeling and animation environment that makes professional animations that can be exported and integrated very easily into Flash. Not only does it make 3D animations a snap, but the interface is easy to use and even a beginner can start animating in minutes. The thing I like the most about Swift is the fact that you can create things in a 3D environment, and export them in vector format, yes vector. I like to design intricate 3D scenes and export them as an AI file to use in Illustrator, but you might be more interested in the Flash side of the program, I don’t know. In fact, I wrote a tutorial a long time ago about using Swift3D as a powerful 3D Illustration tool, if you’re interested in reading that.

This program Swift3D sounds like magic. I am a 3D animation major who uses soft-image, but i am looking for something more user friendly. I tried zbrush, then i tried sketchup, and i still haven’t found something that can work good with flash. i don’t always have the time that is needed to make intricate detailed 3D models like most animation majors. I need something that is simple and effective! This software sounds amazing. I would love to see how i can integrate it into my work flow and produce some really cool stuff. =)

I’d love to get my hands on a copy: the integration with Studio Max and PaperVision3D would make for some serious fun. I last used a copy when it was v3, but seeing the incredible work ERain have done with nurbs editing etc, since then I’m in love.
I spend so much time under the hood of Flash and Flex engineering the data-driven side of things it would be great to be able to bust out with some eye candy for a change!

I’d love a copy of V5. Used version 3 back in my Uni days to produce some cool (well, pretty lame at the time but I was a n00b to 3D modelling!) animations for a couple of Flash projects we had to do. Couldn’t believe how easy it was to integrate with Flash. Prior to using it I was still stuck on Frame by Frame anims which took forever!!

Swift 3d was, for year, the unique choose for creating 3d in flash sites. Now, with Flashpaper3d, there is a great problem: now there is a 3d flash engine. I think Swift 3d is the best software for flash designers and simply object but, if you need an interactive 3d site, and you have the skills, well, go to Flashpaper 3D, IMHO

I know that this software is pretty awesome, but my boss doesn’t think that way, during the trial evaluation period I tried to show him how powerful this tool is, so that he could buy the company licenses. We are a web design company and we work with flash. We really like to add 3d components to our design.
The major problem is that not always is easy. We used papervision and 3d max and we would like to add 3d swift to our software choice. My bigger problem is the boss doesn’t think that way, too bad we really would enjoy a copy, and prove our boss that this tool is awesome and really can help our company; eventually he would buy more licenses for all the company.

I’m using Cinema4D CE (cheap version of Cinema4D r6 in Czech Republic) for my 3D -simple- project Cinema4D . It’s really fine piece of software, but here is not way to export my project into Flash. If Swift3D really has export into Flash then i can connect my flash project with my 3d project. So if you think that is enought to pick me i’m will be really happy :D

I´ve experimented with Swift3d in a couple of occasions.
It definitely caused a good impression and I do have some good uses for it.
