Do you remember when we it was amazing that you would have enough stuff to fill up a Gigabit? Or when the Zip Drive came out and was the last mass storage media we’d ever need? 2 TB. Amazing to think that in 10 years, a TB will only be used as a reference for small files. We’ll have Bigabits & Quaterradupabits. And it will all fit onto a chip the size of the surface of an eraser…if they even have those in the future.

I’ve just visited the Air and Space Museum in Washington. There was a supercomputer and it was about the size of an average cupboard. It had 128 kilobytes! Wow! Lol now you see this 2 TB, it’s just amazing!

Wow. I’m trying to think what 2TB’s look like with all my stuff on it.
Apart from the freebies, so far I have bazillions of photo’s pasted together with oodle’s of vector work and a smorgasbord splattering of PDF’s, music, video and boring text based stuff. I’m sure I could find something else to fill it up…mmmm… yup still thinking! There’s a lot of space to fill, this could take a while (currently on 1.4TB and counting).

I had four old external hard drives, now down to three, soon two. It would nice to archive all design materials in one space including the large amount of volunteer design work I am doing for Boys and Girls Club of KC, MOCSA, ACLU, and trying to start my own freelance company. Money is tight, but non-profits budgets are even tighter. Living paycheck to paycheck doesn’t help them out or me.
