I’ve had a chance to review this component and I must say, it’s very, very sexy. I can see this coming in very useful for some portfolio sites, or client image galleries. The 3d Wall component is an interactive 3D thumbnail gallery boasting a ton of features and is extremely customizable. Contest rules after the jump…

  1. This is awesome. I’ve just written a post about the Piclens plugin for your web browser which lets you do the same (although only the flat wall layout) for all your flickr, facebook, google etc images. Making a portfolio with this would really make a great expression. The only thing that I’m missing is that you can only use the mac 2-finger-scrolling to zoom, but not navigate.
With Piclens it is possible though.

  2. This would be a great asset to have. Hope I win! Thanks!

  3. aah.. really nice!

  4. Ooh, those are beautiful! Would love to have the plugin!

  5. The demos are pretty smooth, I like the effects. I think the best part about this component release is that Flashloaded FINALLY has some AS3 stuff!

  6. Wow, those are really neat!

  7. This is so sweet. Thanks for the opportunity to win it.

  8. awesome component, real smooth!

  9. It works really well, first I thought that it would be slow, but it is really snappy and renderes well, must have been immensely difficult job to optimize.

  10. These effects keep presentations freshh and alive…I really like these effects….keep up the great work!!!

  11. This would be great for a featured directory or an awesome portfolio. Thanks for sharing and the chance to win!

My boss at work was just looking at this yesterday! I drooled a lot and was very impressed. This would be a great asset to have for any designer if not just for their own portfolio site!

  13. It’s amazing. I want it!

  14. I’m in ;)

  15. Flashloaded components are always top tier and this 3D is no exception. Keep up the good work!

  16. Just looked at the demos. It looks just great. It would really be a nice addition to my current components!

  17. Wow I alway wanted to know if there was a component to do this easily. Looks great, I’d love to use it on my new portfolio site I’m working on… Thanks for the great post.

  18. What an amazing component! Everything moves around so smoothly and the images come out really clear as well. I can think of so many times that this would have been great to have.

  19. Timmothy Said...

Woo hoo for freebies! These are some very nice pieces!

  20. Yes please.

  21. It’s programs like this, that as a flash programer, make me sad and excited at the same time. Sad because I have no idea where to even begin with something like that, and excited to realize how amazing web technologies are becoming. If anything else, it serves as a reminder of how much I have to learn.

  22. i’d love to have it. hope luck is on my side.

  28. Adam Kirkwood Said...

Amazing work with Flash Components! Thanks for the opportunity to win once again!

  29. The navigation seemed a little bit slow and laggy on my computer, but the interface and controls were well laid out. Great design, I was constantly noticing little touches like the blurring of images next to the one you were viewing, etc.

  30. WOW they are great!! They all ran so smoothly for me, I Love the reflections and everything is so stunning! I was amazed at how fast and smooth it runs!! Very nice.

  31. They are perfect for the project I’m working!!

  32. Brandon Said...

    Cool stuff, as awlays

  33. I´ve played around with it alittle bit at a clients office and I´d really like to get a copy of my own :-)

  34. I’ve seen this functionality before, and it is very impressive. PicLens (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5579) is an add-on for Firefox that integrates with Flickr (and others I believe). I thought one of the better features was this view (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/images/preview/5579/2), which would speed up the photo browsing experience.

As a web developer, I could see myself adopting a tool like this. I would have to investigate into what hooks it might have into data gathering. I would like to gather statistics on pictures viewed, or maybe heat maps showing user interaction. Maybe these are suggestions I should take to the original developers.

  35. Wow, those are gorgeous.

  36. I was impressed by the fact that I could click on a thumb on the opposite side of the viewing area and it would move to that image quickly. Very smooth.

  37. Great stuff! Very innovative and flashy.

  38. I’m finally going to win something. Something good.

  39. nice!

  40. Just one more reason Flash galleries can work as gorgeous dynamic gallery… XML and Flash, match made in heaven.

Pick me pick me! : )

  41. Very Nice!

  42. This would be perfect timing as I’m building my portfolio page online right now! I WANT IT BAD!

  43. Wow, these are stunning. I would love to get my hands on a set for free!

  44. Wow this is fantastic, would be perfect for an art gallery site I am working on. Great use of papervision3D. Really takes advantage of the engine making it smooth and fluid. I might just purchase this anyways.

  45. That is so cool. I want one for my portfolio… I wish I knew more ActionScript so I could just make my own :(

  46. This is pretty cool. I think it would be good for architectural type sites.

  47. I just played around with the demo- that is slick.

  48. This is really nice. The scrolling is really smooth. I wish there was a keyboard shortcut for zooming though. I hope I win a copy though.

  49. Wow! I love how you can click on the image and zoom in right away. It definitely gives an experience :D This is no doubt useful for portfolio websites or even professional company websites!

  61. ahhh, nice, nice, nice!….I digg all of them. They have a smooth transition from one pic to another and the possibilities it has….Go Flashloaded & Bittbox!!!!!!!!!!

  62. Neat! I would love to have that.

  63. i’m throwing my name in the hat.

although it looks very nice, i had my flash player lock up twice! i’ve got the most updated player, so it might be a hardware issue.

still, looks like a great component. i’m more curious in seeing the process that went into creating such a component.

  64. Wow, this is a very cool bit of Flash. I’d say my only gripe is the glow on the demo image is distracting, but it looks like you can adjust that. Thumbs up all around!

  65. Omg, this is so great, Im working on a portfolio, and I havent found the design I want… this is would be great, I really dont like flash websites but… I dont know, this 360ª curvature might make me change my mind if i win haha, and I love apple… this reminds me to apple TV :P so yeah… I hope I get it :)

  66. Wow! what a super fun flash component. I totally dig it. I could play for hours!

  67. Steve French Said...

Awesome! I’d love to have a copy!
Thanks for the continued great content Bitt!

  68. TaraRebeka Said...

How freakin’ cool would this be?!

I had to show everyone here in our office the demos — there were considerable ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ all around. We’re trying to think of where, on our website, we could implement it, because it would blow our residents away.

Now… how do we talk our boss into buying it for us (and by ‘us’ I mean me and all my photos at home). ;^)

    What a simply fantastic component!

  69. I absolutely love this! I have seen websites use this in the past, and must say I was impressed with how functional and visually appealing it is. Bravo for bringing it to my attention yet again! I will be sure to utilize it if I win and even if I do not, I think I will be making a purchase sometime soon.

  70. i would love to use this!! hope to be lucky..

  71. This would be great for a resume page of project examples. Cool!

  72. Good component! this is very nice… perfect for a photographer!

  73. Very sweet interactivity!

  74. PICK ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  75. wow….this looks terrific!

This would rock my portfolio like Amadeus…..huh! huh!

    nevermind. (please pick me!)

  76. I stopped dead in my tracks when this post showed up in my Google Reader. After playing around with the demo, I can honestly say that this may very well be the coolest freakin’ use of flash I’ve ever seen.

I’m a big usability guy — really in favor of content for content’s sake — but using this particular component adds the “Holy F*#@!” dynamic to any site design.

If i were lucky enough to win a copy of the 3D Wall Components, I’d use its powers for good, not evil.

  77. This is a very nice plugin. I would love to have a free copy.

    - Fred

  78. This time I get lucky for sure!! Thanks Bitt! :)

  79. count me in - nicely done

  85. love that component, it’s very fun to interact with. Love your site too, thanks for the hard work you put into it.

  86. Nice component !

  87. The demos are just amazing, though my one concern is in the tall cylinder demo, I did have a hang-situation once but I could not replicate it.

I look forward to winning this prize :D

  88. Super cool, would love to implement this component into a project!

  89. Eric Hilse Said...

  133. Levin Mejia Said...

    This is sweet. PICK ME!!

  134. I wonder how many people here even bothered to click through to the demos, for what it is worth while I would not say no to a copy (hence the comment) I found the demos a little uninspiring, very slow loading 45 images were taking 30 seconds or so, the animation while smooth between images did not felt clumsy and transition from image to image, as opposed to zooming in and out was jerky.

Ultimately the question is it worth the price, well I wouldn’t buy a copy at its current retail price.

Just a shame so few people actually took the time to go beyond your screenshots ;)

  135. wooooooow, perfect illusion of a virtual vernissage :),
    thx for that !

  136. Wow. These are really interesting and I would love to see them in production environment just to see what people can come up with. I’d like to see these hi-jacked and used completely different than originally intended.

  137. That Guy Said...

    Tim Nash:
That clunky, slowness is probably slow cpu or you are using too much RAM, yes it takes a few seconds to load - but this in NOT some lame html gallery… so it makes sense it needs to load.

  138. Schneemensch Said...

Wow, this looks great! Oh no, I mean… AWESOME!
Would be the greatest pleasure to check it out for me since receiving my macbook…

    It looks great!

  139. Very cool. Looks like it would fit nicely into a customized website for a photographer client of mine. Could also work nicely as a design portfolio. Thanks for the info!

  140. The carousel one rocks, it would be awesome to have this.

  141. GraphicsGeek Said...

Wow, this is probably one of the most complex components I have ever seen. Hopefully I win!

  151. Don't pick me Said...

For all of you who DON’T get the free product and DON’T have $80 for this flash - go to http://gotoandlearn.com/
This guy has tons of video tutorials and on the left, 13 down, he has a VERY detailed video tutorial on making 3D Carousels - it’s a 3-part video that uses the same techniques (flash, AS 3.0 and XML) as the one featured for sale.

    Good luck to all.

  152. Don't pick me Said...

He also has two (2) tutorials on Papervision 3D which is what drives the flash 3D wall.

  153. This is absolutely incredible. The controls make it really wonderful and easy to use. This not only looks like it worth the $80, but looks like is worth upgrading to CS3 (for those who haven’t yet) just to use it.

  154. An incre
