Hey Everyone, I’ve got some new eye candy for you to browse. Neil Duerden, a world famous Illustrator and digital artist always sends me an email when he updates his site, so I thought I’d pass along the news. There are over 70 new images on his site. Time for a little inspiration. Package design can be tricky, but as you can see here, sometimes it can be relatively simple and still come across as beling elegant. Sometimes, less is more….. Here are over 100 examples of package design that either has a minimal style, or a typographic based solution. If you’re in need of a little inspiration, and you favor illustration, look no further than Neal McCullough. I received an email from Neil yesterday, and I was so impressed with his work, I had to share. Neil is a talented illustrator, and a lot of his work has a “clean, yet vintage” feel about it. Check out his website, HandDrawnCreative.

In the wake of Shepard Fairey’s debacle with the AP over the rights to the image he used as reference/inspiration for his wildy popular Obama poster, I wanted to share a list of Public Domain Licensed images, in this case, astronomy. Fairey’s situation should hit home with all pixel junkies out there and remind us that we have to pay close attention to the licenses associated with the images we use in our design work. I’ve compiled a list of beautiful, inspiring astronomy images that all have a Public Domain License.

Astronomy intrigues me. I’m a regular APOD surfer. I love reading about space, and the images of the universe, I find inspiring. Here’s a list of “Public Domain” astronomy images that I put together, all of which I found on Wikimedia. If you aren’t familiar with Wikimedia, it doesn’t have a stellar (pun intended) selection, but it’s a very good source of Public Domain and GNU licensed images. So here we go, let’s start off the list with none other than our very own blue marble.

We’ve all probably browsed through lists of great desktop walpapers, but I thought it would be fun to actually see some of your desktops for real. I’ve done workspace round-ups before, and now we get to peer even closer into some of our collegues’ digital environments. Every artist is different, and as you can tell below….so are their desktops. I was recently contacted by Neil Duerden, an internationally famous and talented UK designer. He informed me that he has updated his site with loads of new finished pieces and wanted to share his work with everyone. The updates include not only print designs but some new motion graphics as well.
