This is a re-release tribute post for The first set of Hi-Res Photoshop Brushes I ever made. The original Hi-Res Watercolor Brushes released here at BittBox on April 19, 2007 have surpassed 1,000,000 downloads and counting!!!!! Its hard to imagine that so many people have downloaded them and are putting these brushes to good use. I’m honored to be a digital philanthropist, and I just wanted to take a minute to celebrate a very cool statistic.
The latest contest for Designious Vector packs has ended, and congrats to all of you who commented on the “Abstract Trees” pack. All 309 of you will be receiving a link to download the pack for free. You’ll receive an email from designious in the next day or two. I’d like to thank Alex for his generous donation to the design community, and I have one last comment. It’s easy to agree when it’s free! Have fun with the abstract trees everyone :)
I have an awesome contest for everyone this week. Alex over at Designious has, once again, offered some of their wonderful vector packs to BittBoxer’s. This contest, however is different, in a (very) good way. Please read the rules carefully, there is not a set amount of winners!
Wood textures are by far one of the most prominently used textures in web and graphic design. They are ubiquitous in there implementation as website backgrounds, but they are also frequently used in print design and layers for photography. Overall, wood textures may possibly be the most versatile texture out there.

I’ve got another free font to release to the public. I call this one Baja California. The premium version is still being developed, but I thought I’d go ahead and release the demo since it’s far enough along to do so. The demo version contains the entire alphabet, upper and lowercase. Hope everyone likes it!

This weeks texture pack focuses on another one of the more popular textures out there: rocks. Rock textures are plentiful on the internet (as well as real life) so they regularly show up in web and graphic designs. Hopefully you get some good use out of them, Enjoy!

I hope everyone had a good weekend, how about starting off the week with some free icons! My friends over at Artua Design Studio have graciously handed over a super cool icon set for me to give away. As you can see the icon set has a Wall·E theme, and contains 8 super detailed icons.
