Today’s textures came from an old abandoned one room school around here. I love how old crumbling buildings like this have the ability to tell their stories through the textures I can capture. I need to go back and shoot the rest of the building sometime, but that’s another post. These textures will work perfect for adding some vintage mood to your designs or photos. Enjoy!

One of the most oft questions I get asked on my blog Lost & Taken isn’t about the textures, it’s “How did you create your subtle background image?”. It’s actually a pretty quick process in Photoshop, but I’ve taken the liberty of putting together 9 different seamless noise-y patterns to help save you guys a little extra time. The patterns are a combination of noise and grunge, with some of them coming from photographs and others being generated by the computer. They’re perfectly seamless and will work great for website backgrounds and many other projects.
If you’re looking for a good way to put them to use check out what’s tagged with “noise” on Dribbble. There are all kinds of awesome designs on there that utilize patterns just like these.
I’ve included nine high-res .JPG files that you can edit/modify to your liking. I’ve also included a Photoshop .PAT file if you’re in need of a quick pattern fix. Both the .JPG and .PAT files are included in the download at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!
Today we’ve got a rad set of paper textures that have been overlayed with images of blue skies and clouds to give the overall texture a unique feel. These images were made by designer Callum Chapman for me a long time ago and they’ve been lying dormant on my hard drive until now. We hope you find them useful, enjoy!

For our inaugural “Freebie Friday”, I’ve got some useful Photoshop Custom Shapes for everyone’s downloading pleasure. These should save you time if you need them, as you won’t have to go into Illustrator to make your own sunbursts on the fly. Just use the custom shape tool, in PS and blam, sunburst. Sunbursts can make I nice background element in a variety of ways. :) (Download after the jump)
I’ve got a highly useful set of blue grungy textures for you guys today. I created these in Photoshop by combining paper and grunge textures in various blending layers to achieve the final effect. Let me know if you guys like them and enjoy!
