The other day I was wandering around some back allies in my town and came across all of these cool poles that had been painted and scraped and repainted over and over again. I thought it gave these grunge textures a very cool feel, almost like an abstract acrylic painting or something. I wandered around town today for a few hours and shot over 600 new textures and some of my favorites from the batch are the rusty ones. Rust textures work really well when you want to add a good chunk of grunge to your designs or photos. I tried to include a nice variety in today’s post… I hope you get some use out of them. Enjoy!

After browsing Flickr for some texture ideas, I ran across a cool “grunge frame” image and thought I would give it a whirl myself. Each of these textures are 4-5 images stacked on top of one another layers with various blending modes. I then just erased the center of certain layers, which gives the frame effect. I hope you find a good use for them, they were a blast to make. Enjoy!

Today marks the 300th texture we’ve given away here on Texture Tuesday, here’s to the next 300! I thought I’d do another grab bag set today, you can check out the first one here. Like before, these are just some textures I’ve had sitting around that deserved to be shared and used in your design projects. Each one of these textures was made by combining 6-10 textures in different layers in Photoshop, along with some color overlays. I consider them to be some of the best examples of grunge textures that I’ve ever made, I hope you think the same! In the next few weeks I’m going to try and return to my roots and start shooting more photographic textures, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, I’m back from holiday vacation and first up on the schedule is a set of free vectors. These are flower silhouettes that would be very useful in a lot of different ways. It’s pretty cold where I live right now, so I felt like making something that reminded me of warmer weather. I hope you like them. :)

I want to do some winter-themed textures in the weeks leading up to Christmas and I thought I’d start off with something a little out of the box: grungy frost. Yesterday we had our first snow of the season here in Kansas and I was excited to shoot some cool snow textures, but unfortunately it’s still a little to warm out for the snow to stick to the ground for too long. However, the moisture did leave behind another wonderful texture: mud. I’ve had a few requests to do muddy tire track textures in the past, so here you guys go, enjoy!

I tried doing something a little different with today’s texture set by mixing in some basic photoshop patterns with various grunge textures, the results kind of remind me of grungy Christmas wrapping paper of sorts (it is almost that time of the year). I hope you enjoy the textures and find some unique uses for them!
