Hi everyone. My name is Jay Hilgert. I’m a Designer, Blogger, Web Enthusiast, and an Apple Geek, This blog is my little corner of the web. I’m from Oklahoma, went to Oklahoma State University, moved to St. Louis for a while, now I operate out of Oklahoma City. My main job description would be a “Freebie Maker” if you had to describe what I spend most of my time doing. I like to give away only the best quality stuff to help designers everywhere. I also like to post workflow tips to help people work faster. These are the posts where everyone can chime in until we find the best way to do a certain task. I enjoy the community of professionals (and non-professionals) we’ve built here and I hope you find something useful while you’re here. Nice to meet you ;)

First, thanks so much for these great resources. I also love your site’s ‘look’ and your video tutorials are really easy to follow. I appreciate their simplicity and your voice is easy on the ears too. I gave up on you tube with its video tutes with blaring music drowning out the narration…The resolution in your videos is great also.
So again thanks. Only one question – well, two. 1. Can your brushes and other freebies be used in Photoshop Elements? I have CS3 but had to uninstall it since it froze on my 2 yr old (or so) iMac. I didn’t have enough stats on the basic computer and/or too much other junk in the HD. and 2. Please recommend the IDEAL stats for a new iMac upon which I hope to finally really learn Photoshop, and install CS3 and the CS4 update – I can’t wait to paint on 3D!

I am new to this site. Very cool stuff. I am looking for a cool vector graphic of a game board. Kind of like a full monopoly or other looking game board and have had a very difficult time finding one that is the whole board. Does anyone know where I might find one?

I have one main question… are we allowed to use the freebies on your site to design work that is sold to the general public? IE If I utilize one of your freebie brush sets to design a t-shirt, am I allowed to sell the shirt? I just want to make sure that I am not infringing on anyone’s copyright.

Yes, as long as you make it your own design, and don’t just use the brush itself as the design.
