Man, these are neat. I didn’t know what else to call them except for ‘tags,’ but that’s exactly what they are. These free vectors are available over at Pixlpusher, a young blog, but if he keeps making freebies like this, he should be in all of our RSS subscriptions very soon. Great job, Pixlpusher ;)
This is by far the most-emailed question I get here at BittBox. How can you make vector halftones from raster images? Well, our friends at Adobe haven’t seen the need to throw us a bone in this situation yet, but there are some brave souls out there taking on the challenge themselves, and answering the call. I’m going to show you 3 different ways to create vector halftones from raster images, 2 of which are free, and the 3rd is only $15. Grab a random image from your archive, and let’s get to it. . .

If you haven’t heard of Mondrianum yet, it’s a neat little (shareware) plugin for Photoshop (Mac only) that adds Adobe’s Kuler color combinations to the Apple color picker. It doesn’t just work in Photoshop. After installing Mondrainum, it works system-wide with any Mac app that uses the Apple color picker, like iLife, iWork, etc. Granted, most Photoshoppers probably don’t prefer the Apple color picker over Adobe’s, but if you are ever in need of a little color inspiration with the help from Kuler, it can come in handy. I’ll show you how to get it working in Photoshop.
Many of you probably noticed that the Box has been down for a couple days. Well, my hard drive had to be replaced and it took a lot longer to fix than expected. No worries though, I had plenty of time to make some freebies! In this set you’ll find 3 very detailed sunflower vectors. Hope you like ‘em ;) and lets hope my host’s hardware doesn’t crap-out again anytime soon, huh!
Apparently my server’s hard drive is failing, so it’s going to have to be replaced : ( It might take up to 24 hrs, so the Box might be down for the next day or so. When I return from this dilemma, I’ve got an awesome set of vectors for everyone. See you in a day or so.
