I don’t know what features you may or may not have been looking forward to in Apple’s Leopard release, but me. . . I’m easy to please. All I wanted for Christmas was an EPS preview in Finder. As a designer, not being able to view a thumbnail of EPS files drives me to crazy town, and also wastes a lot of time opening EPS files in Illustrator just to see what’s in them. I installed Leopard earlier tonite and out of all the bells and whistles, the one I wanted just isn’t happening. Oh, and don’t worry, i doesn’t work in Quick Look either. Maybe I’m not understanding something about EPS, (I’d like to hear your thoughts) but I would really like to know why there is never a thumbnail available for this format. A format that designers use very regularly.
In preparation for OS 10.5 Leopard’s release tomorrow, I’ve been poking around the Apple forums and came across a user that claims CS3 is still working after his Leopard Upgrade. I’ve heard tons people begging for an answer to this question, so I thought you all would like to know. Here is the thread, Just installed Leopard by user ray sharpe. He also states that these other apps are working perfectly in Leopard: “Biz, Skype, Handbrake, Toast, Limewire, EyeTV, SiteSucker, Google Earth, Earth Browser, Suitcase Fusion, Parallels, ECI Client V5 (tax), Uncoverit and SnapZ pro.”
Making a custom brush in Illustrator can be easy and frustrating at the same time. If you haven’t been informed from your updater application yet, Adobe has made available a new version of Adobe Reader (8.1.1). Personally, being on a Mac, I prefer Preview because it seems a ton faster, but Adobe Reader is great for viewing, saving copies, and even adding security (passwords) to PDF documents. [Lots of] Designers use PDF documents regularly, and Reader is a good way to view these documents, (before delivering them to press for example), without having to run the bulkier Acrobat. (it launches noticeably faster than Acrobat too, from my experience).

New grunge-type time folks. Actually, you might even call this a grungy script font. Ohlo de Boi by Billy Argel is not only a decent looking grunge font, but has a lot of extra characters, unlike the majority of (free) grunge fonts.
Have you ever had the creative juices flowing, your favorite music blaring, and selected your Photoshop brush, only to find that your cursor disappears and you can’t see the brush outline? Photoshoppers everywhere have endured this little annoyance for years. It’s really quite simple to avoid, but until you know why, it can be quite a thorn in your side.
