I’m not capable of writing a blog theme, since I don’t know a thing about php. However, I can help with the visuals. Here is a variety set of vector web page design elements. Files are in AI, EPS, and SVG format. In order to customize, you will need a vector graphics editor, such as Adobe Illustrator, or InkScape.
This set is a variety pack of free vector glass buttons and bars for your webpage or blog. Since they are in vector format, they can be easily manipulated and scaled to fit your layout without having to worry about pixellation. To customize, you will need a graphics editor, such as Adobe Illustrator.
Customizing tip: use the direct select tool (white arrow) and select one of the gray background shapes. Then, in the “Select” menu, choose “Select > Same Fill Color.” This will allow you to change the fill color of all 72 bars at the same time.
This is a Free Vector Package I put together with some Glass Style Bars with diagonal banding. It is totally customizable with a vector graphics editor, such as Adobe Illustrator. Included in the download is the AI, EPS, SVG, and PNG file. Customization requires intermediate-to-advanced Illustrator knowledge. The images below represent a mere 10 examples of the endless amount of possible color combinations.
The fade of the banding was intentional for one reason: If you have an expandable layout website, you can chop up and repeat the right portion of this image to make a flexible-width bar.
This is a follow-up to my Free Fading Corners post, which was apparently very well received by a lot of you. I’ve put together a fully VECTOR version of my fading corner, which means it can be manipulated freely in Illustrator or Inkscape without pixellation. But you already knew that, right? Regardless, this file will hopefully be very useful, as it achieves nearly the exact same appearance with only 2 shapes within Illustrator. See below for customization tips.

Done in the Glass style, here are some numbers to use in a web page design. This icon pack includes the PSD file so you can customize the color, however, the text (numbers) are rasterized to prevent font issues, so if you want to change the font, just delete the text layers and insert your own. This is a simple set, I know, but hopefully someone out there has a good use for them. Have fun. If you are unable to customize, PNG’s as well as JPEG’s are included.
When Dashboard was an infant, Apple provided developers with guidelines for developing effective and useful dashboard widgets. If you look at the “Top 50″ Dashboard widgets on the Apple Downloads site, you will find that a good portion of the most popular widgets don’t even follow Apple’s guidelines. At All.
If you don’t know what Swift is, it’s a relatively new software by Electric Rain that specializes in rendering 3D vector animations. For the most part, Swift3D is intended to be used in conjunction with Flash, to allow you to model and animate in 3d, and import your Swift animations into the Flash environment. It works fine for that, but I think it’s even better for Illustrating in 3D. Bear with me on the lingo here. . . If you are an illustrator, and you use Illustrator, Swift3D (Currently USD $229) could be a nice investment for you to look into. A year ago this time, it was about $129, so I think the sooner you buy, the better. I’m predicting some major improvements in the next release. Swift is very versatile and supports most platforms, including Intel Macs, and they provide free updates for registered accounts.
