As many of you know, I’ve spent the better part of 3 years working on Brush Pilot, a Photoshop brush previewer for OS X. We are about to come out with a major update that not only adds 4 languages (Spanish, French, Swedish, and Italian), but we are also in the process of fixing two major CS3 bugs. One that involves the folder names of the “Presets” and “Brushes” folders, which is where Photoshop brushes get installed. The other bug is where I need your help. The only thing left in order to complete the next update is what file “Kind” in OS X in Spanish does Brush Pilot need to look for? I usually find these things out on Twitter, or when customer support emails come in, but I’m really excited about this next update, so I thought I’d make a post and reach out to a wider audience. A long time ago, I was one of the eager souls awaiting the release of the original Pixelmator software. Well, that was, like I said, a long time ago and Pixelmator has made many strides since then. Currently at version 1.5, Pixelmator has too many improvements to list. Among the copious amount of new features is one of my favorites: Save for Web. Being a graphic designer and a blogger, this tool alone is a makes me like Pixelmator even more. I’ve got 3 licenses to give away. Read the rules after the jump, and good luck!

More grunge textures coming at you this week, hopefully they aren’t getting to repetitive…they’re useful though, right? This week I went out of my way to make the dirtiest, most grunge-y textures I could conjure up. I was browsing the movie trailers on the Apple website the other day and stumbled onto a few of my vectors in one of the trailers. The movie is called “Inkheart.” It looks to be along the lines of The Chronicles of Narnia style movie, and it appears to be a pretty high budget film. Kinda neat to see one of my freebies in a high budget Hollywood film trailer. I’ll have to check out the film itself to see if they used anything else :)
